Your nightmares will overcome you.

Frank Juchniewicz began taking courses on creative writing and learning the craft both formally and informally over the last 27 years. He began studying writing, acting and other aspects of television and film production at the age of sixteen in a program called Cinekyd. His fascination with horror also began early in his childhood and he has spent his life studying all things morbid, abnormal, occult and macabre. Recognizing that a deeper understanding of the human mind could help inform his writing in terms of character development and motivations, Frank pursued a B.S. in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University with an emphasis in business. Frank supplemented his academic studies by working in Psychological research labs and by becoming an active member of Psi Chi (National Honor Society for Psychology) as well as the president of the Penn State Psychology Club.

Frank went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Arcadia University in Counseling Psychology where he was also inducted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda (National Honor Society for Graduate Students). His work experience in the field of Psychology includes inpatient mental health and substance abuse facilities as well as individual and group counseling on an outpatient basis before eventually running his own private practice. With an emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Frank specialized in treating Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Substance Abuse and Court Mandated Domestic Violence Offenders, as well as a broad range of additional mental health issues. He holds a certification in Hypnosis through the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association. For over a decade Frank provided clinical consultations and feedback to hundreds of counselors across the country.

As a writer, Frank draws upon his experiences working with all types of people and finds inspiration in their stories and their struggles. A published writer, Frank branched out into writing screenplays for the Philadelphia independent film scene. In 2012 Frank incorporated his own production company, Frank Horror LLC, and has acted as writer, director and producer for several short films and virtual reality shorts that have won awards and acclaim at film festivals and horror conventions nationwide, and has acted as a script consultant for other independent film companies.

Frank has also been involved with acting (both in front of the camera and voice-acting) and special effects makeup. In addition, Frank creates horror-themed photo series that are featured on the gallery page of his website, FrankHorror.com. His horror photography artwork has been featured in multiple publications and he has been a featured exhibitor at two art shows to date.

Frank is an active member of The Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association (PIFVA), The Producers Association of Philadelphia (PAP), The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival (PIFF) and the Pennsylvania Film Industry Assocation (PaFIA). He is a SAG/AFTRA signatory and the majority of his films have been SAG/AFTRA productions.

He is currently authoring an interactive horror narrative for Amazon’s Alexa and has multiple feature-length scripts and treatments ready for production.
